HANAN SNIR

One of Israel's most prominent directors. Born in 1943, Tel Aviv. Graduate of the Drama Department in Tel Aviv University. Was a trainee director at the RSC with director Peter Brook and a teacher director at RADA, London. .(1970-72). Resident director at the Beer-Sheba Municipal theatre (1974-76), among his works: "Little Malcolm/D. Haliwell, Birthday Party/Pinter, the Twelfth Night/Shakespeare, Spring Awakening/Wedeking, the Seagull/Chekhov. 1977-1982 resident director in the Cameri Theatre. Among his works: Man Is Man/Brecht, Yentle/Bashevis-Singer, Elsewhere Perhaps/Amos Oz, Solomon Grip/H.Levine

Since 1984 resident director in Habimah National Theatre (Artistic Director 1992-1993).Among his works: Kaddish/Allen Ginsberg, Uncle Vanya/Chekov, The Father/Strindberg, Blood Wedding/Lorca, Death and the Maiden/Dorfman, Ghosts/Ibsen, The Dybbuk/Anski,The Merchant of Venice/Shakespeare, A Month In The Country/Turgenev, The Goat/ Albee, Antigone/Sophocles, Fasten, Little Eyolf/Ibsen, The same sea/after a novel by Amos Oz.

Mr. Snir directed many current Israeli plays as well as opera productions for which he won the praise of both critique and audience. His productions were invited to international theatre festivals in Berlin, Oslo, Stockholm, Moscow, Caracas Jerusalem and New York.
Mr. Snir is the holder of numerous prices which he received for his work during the years. Mr. Snir Holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston University, he is a certified psychodrama therapist (TEP), holds a Diploma in Family Therapy and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
