Rosa, an aging, retired Jewish prostitute and Auschwitz survivor, takes care of Momo, a young Arab boy on the verge of adolescence. The other children who found a shelter in her small apartment, have left.
Momo hasn't seen his parents in years. He and Madame Rosa struggle to make ends meet, and as her body and mind start to fail, it becomes clear that Momo is the only person she has left in the world. He will stay with her as she faces her ultimate fears, prepares for her last and most difficult voyage.
Romain Gary's (who published the book under the name Emile Ajar) masterpiece is now receiving a stage adaptation. On the backdrop of the unlighten part of Paris unfolds a story about the power of human spirit, the beauty of compassion and the triumph of love.
